Welcome, I'm Latandra
Starting my childcare business and having the confidence to pursue this dream has not always been easy, but caring for children has always been a passion of mine. Growing up, I was constantly surrounded by children. A fun fact about me is that when I was a little girl, I would line up all of my stuffed animals and pretend I was their teacher. My mom would walk into my room wondering who I was talking to because I would have pencils, paper, and everything set up just like a real classroom. I would tell her, “I’m talking to my students and my friends!” To this day, she still laughs and talks about those memories.
My journey in childcare began at the age of 13 when I started babysitting. Over the years, I earned the trust of many family members and friends who relied on me to care for their children, including newborns. I have always had a gentle, nurturing spirit and a special ability to connect with children of all ages. Throughout my life, I have also worked with children who have autism and other disabilities, which has strengthened my patience, understanding, and passion for helping children thrive.
I have over seven years of hands-on experience caring for individuals with special needs and children with diverse abilities. I worked at Heinzerling for three years, providing direct care and support to individuals with special needs. I then spent approximately four years in behavioral health, working with children who had a wide range of needs, including high-functioning and low-functioning developmental disabilities, as well as behavioral challenges. As I continued to grow professionally, I pursued higher education and graduated College as a Medical Assistant Technician. I am also a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) And HHA, I hold current CPR and First Aid certifications. I currently work at The Ohio State University while continuing to follow my passion for providing compassionate, safe, and nurturing childcare for children and families.
When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my family and friends. And Attending Church, My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and feel valued every day.
